The Pyrénées

Friday morning Jim and I decided, since we didn't have anything going for the next few days, we should take off in the Romahome for a new adventure.   We didn't get it together to leave until 6 pm, but that didn't stop us.  One of the wonderful things about traveling in our Romahome is that we can pull over and sleep just about anywhere.
We thought the Pyrenees would be a good direction to go.
Sometimes we had to share the road.

This is some famous mountain pass that I can't remember the name of.  The Tour de France goes over this pass.
We are having a picnic along a river.  We try to stay out of restaurants.

This is the National Park of the Pyrenees

Our destination was le Cirque de Troumouse.

We stayed jut out of the town of Cauterets,  at a campground called Cabaliros, and camped next to a raging river.
As you can see, it was not very crowded.

It was a great time of the year to visit, the snow was still melting and so water was gushing out of everywhere.

On the way back from a drive to Pont de Espagne we stopped to photograph this waterfall, then decided to hike to it.

Thats looking back at the Romahome, the little white dot at the end of the rainbow.
Sunday morning we drove a half hour from our campground to the town of Gavernito, so we could hike to another cirque.

It's a two hour hike from the town of Gaverie.

On the way to our next stop, Lourdes, we stopped to watch some bungie jumpers.  I had to pull Jim away, but now he says he wants to do it for his 6oth birthday.

From here we went on to Lourdes, which I cover in the previous blog.

Our second Romahome Adventure this year was a great success.  We were gone three nights and had two full days. Were back by noon on Monday, so Jim could practice music with some musicians. The Cajarc family summer party is in two weeks and they are trying to put together some songs.

As always, I'd love to hear from you about the blog.  You can click on the link 'comments' below.
